Aiken, South Carolina

.... and here we are. piano music is filtering up through the floorboards of our room, the walls covered in herbal identifation prints, and there is a gigantic window over the bathtub. not to mention a love seat next to the window where i sit now. it is reminiscent of what i imagine staying in a saloon to be like, down to the bar being the first thing you see when you walk in the door of the inn.

it's kind of my dream come true (as a hopeless old-western-romantic who always wished she could live during the rein (get it) of the cowboy)

-speaking of which, a lovely show, not meant for children, but which is incredibly eloquent and a quite intense portrayal of the old west is Deadwood. which i will wholeheartedly recommend, as long as you do not mind cursing, nudity, violence, and beautiful writing, sets, and costuming.

and off jen and i go, to get ourselves a drink and some dinner after a day that began at 2:15 am.
